Mission Project Rectangular Callout: Bible Studies Begin
The Bible Studies began at the end of September by inviting 20-25 interested people to a “Kick-off Cookout.” A week later, we began having Bible studies with 3 groups coming on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, totaling 19 adults.

After much prayer and thought, the decision was made to resign Brookside MBC and devote time for the establishment of a new church.
Rectangular Callout: Deputation Begins
Throughout the summer of 2006, the Lee’s traveled in Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois searching for a sponsoring church and support.

Rectangular Callout: The Work Is Named
The work was named at the beginning of May with everyone agreeing on “Friends In Faith Baptist Fellowship.” The name characterizes who the mission is and what they desire to be—people who desire to have fellowship and friendship with one another based upon common beliefs in the Bible.
Rectangular Callout: High Attendance
A high attendance was set with 21 people present. The number underscores the need for another meeting place.

Rectangular Callout: Moved into Rental Space
The number of our families meeting together grows, causing us to look again for rental space. We found a conference room at a nearby Comfort Inn to meet at.

The following timeline shows a brief history of what God has done with the work so far.  Although there are many other blessings, some that are yet to be seen much less written about, these are some of the landmark events that have transpired in the short time we have been doing the work.  (To read about events that lead up to the start of the work, please see “The Missionary” page.)

Rectangular Callout: More Bible Studies
With the conclusion of the first series of Bible Studies, we began a new series entitled, “What’s the Word,” which looks at the Bible as a whole.
Another Bible Study was also started at the Henley’s house. This study looked at the first series, “So, This Is Salvation,” with six people attending.
Rectangular Callout: More Setbacks
One of our families stopped coming. This causes us to stop looking for a rental space.

Rectangular Callout: Moved Again
We moved our services again to a Montessori school at the south end of O’Fallon. The added space suits our classroom needs, and the added visibility is something we hope will serve us well.
